The second part of my trip to the USA covering the Oakland area, Jamestown 1897 Historic Park, Napa Valley Wine Train and the White Pass and Yukon Route Railway.

The first part of photos from a three week trip to the states focusing on tourist railroads with ALCo power. This first part covers the Arkansas and Missouri Railroad, The Midland Railroad, The Apache Railroad and the Grand Canyon Railway plus some mainline bits from BNSF, UP, Amtrak and commuter systems around Albuquerque, San Diego and Los Angeles.

Another week long trip to Tunisia for more DK and DP mileage and another big working with DI55 being out all week. The gen for this trip can be found on the World_Rail_Gen yahoo group.

Another week long trip for MLW power in the shape of the little DKs, the big DPs and a very nice surprise in the shape of DI70 being out all week on the Ghardimou line. The gen for this trip can be found on the World_Rail_Gen yahoo group.

A quick one week trip for GE power, covering the Dar Es Salaam - Kapiri Mposhi TAZARA line and then a Ndola - Lusaka - Kabwe trip on the hellfire RSZ system and a look around their works at Kabwe.

A brief two week tour covering all passenger lines (Mpanda, Kigoma and Mwanza) except the Singida branch. Unfortunately the MX620s (class 88) have now been taken off passenger services and YDM4s rule supreme with pairs on the Dar Es Salaam - Tabora section and singles on the branches.

After entering from Bangladesh through the Akhura / Agartala border point we made our way back to Delhi via Silchar, Dibrugarh, Murkongselek, Tezpur, Samastipur, Bareilly, Jaipur and Srigananagar taking in plenty of MG action.

A brief one week trip to Bangladesh for an exploration of their railways with an entirely ALCo hauled BG network and a mixed GM / ALCo powered MG network.

Some photo's from a mammoth 5 week trip around India covering the metre guage systems of Bareilly, Chhapra, Jaipur, Indore, Ahmedabad and Dharmavaram before many of them are vastly reduced by guage conversion. And there were plenty of BG ALCO's inbetween including several of the WDG3 freight engines.

A week long trip to Tunisia to sample some of SNCFTs MLW and Bombardier constructed ALCo's. The hellfire 12 cylinder DPs were out on some trains to Ghardimaou and the standard gauge line to Bizerte was solid MLW with the two standard gauge DKs 81+82 working all trains. The metre gauge Borj Cedria suburban line is solid DK and we were lucky to get 2 DKs in down on the Sousse S-Bahn. Full gen and trip report can be found on the world_rail_gen yahoo group.

My second trip to India - this time concentrating on the south and the rapidly disappearing MG network plus some WDP3 bashing for good measure. Chennai - Trichy - Dindigul - Coimbatore - Ooty - Madurai - Kollam - Madurai - Tambaram - Chennai.

A week long trip to Malaysia for YDM4s and far too much class 24 and 25 rubbish. Kuala Lumpar - Alor Setar - Butterworth - Gemas - Singapore - Gua Musang - Kuala Lumpar. All gen for this trip can be found in the archives of the World_Rail_Gen yahoo group.

An all too brief trip to Sri Lanka in the hope of having some of the MLW built M4s. Turns out there's quite a bit of work for these beasts on the Coast line and on locals around Colombo. Also a few DLW built WDM2s out plus GM built G12s and the new Ruston built M9s that sound hellfire. All gen for this trip can be found in the archives of the World_Rail_Gen yahoo group.

My first trip to India which is basically ALCo haulage nirvana... This trip took in Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Indore, Udaipur and back to Delhi and concentrated on the ever dwindling Metre Guage. A report for this trip can be found in the archives of the World_Rail_Gen yahoo group.

Some phots from 3 weeks spent in Buenos Aires shortly before it got ruined by ex Portuguese junk! Mainly concentrating on ALCo hauled suburban trains (LSM and TBA) but also taking in Metropolitano's GMs and GEs and a trip out on Ferrobaires to Junin, across to Lincoln and (after a farce) back from Junin. A two week trip to Brasil starting with the the GE U12 hauled lines on the outskirts of Rio De Janeiro followed by the 4 ALCo RS8 hauled suburban systems based around Recife, Maceio, Joao Pessoa and Natal. All gen for this trip can be found in the archives of the World_Rail_Gen yahoo group.

A three week trip to Peru to do the FCCA line over "the top" (now the second highest railway line in the world), the hellfire 914mm guage FCCH line from Huancayo to Huancavelica and then Perurail out of Cuzco to both Puno and Machu Picchu. A few scans from a couple of trips on PTG tours with 321 030 being the star of the show on both occasions with 318 012 and 321 080 in supporting roles.

Brief trip to this friendly african country as we had great hopes for the English Electric class 37 clones and that the class 92 MLWs might still be working - unfortunately the 37s were a big let down and the MLWs were confined to shunting duties..! My first trip to South Amercia and an enjoyable introduction to a place which is a mecca for fans of amercian built noisy diesels..Most suburban lines were covered and GMs, ALCo's and GE's were all sampled.

Some scans and photos from 8 or 9 trips bashing the loud 749/751s plus a few more of assorted classes for good measure. All 749/751s were loud at the time of the photographs but some have since been stuffed. A few photos from January 2009 are taken by Mark Williams and used with permission as my camera had a bit of a whoops.

Unfortunately I was too late for the big ALCo's on the main line but I've tried to make up for it with 7 or 8 trips on the hellfire metre guage 6 cylinder ALCo's of the Peloponese.

A variety of scans from many trips to Croatia plus the odd excursion to Slovenia, Bosnia and Macedonia for the loud (and thankfully un-turbocharged) GMs.

Here are some of my photos from my trips to Germany for the russian built 232 class and their sisters in Bulgaria. Although I just missed the "glory days" after the wall first came down I caught the tail end of lines such as Dresden - Gorlitz, Dresden / Nurnberg - Munich and Halle - Halberstadt.

A few photos from my first proper foreign bashing trip aged 18. Luckily I got withered for 1800s and had plenty of runs off the 1500s instead and thus my ALCo addiction began... I returned in 2005 for a PTG tour which despite being called the Alcoholic featured a full day of EE and Alsthom power!
